A Big Thank You

Hiya All

To Everyone Who Made 'Oliver!' the great sucess it was.

Today's Thought: I Must Book Early for 'Hello Dolly' to avoid disapointment

All Going Great!

Hiya All

I'm very glad to report that the first two performances of Oliver! have been very well recieved.

Both teams of Kids have done a fabulous job on stage and even the adults have given 110%

With Friday, Saturday and Saturday Matinee all sold out we just have to keep the energy up to show our audience what a great show looks like.

Thanks to All.

Today's Quote: Consider Yourself, entertained. Consider Yourself having a real great time.....

3 Weeks and Counting

Hiya All

With less than 3 weeks to go, and tickets selling at an unprecidented speed we can safely say that we have a great show to look forward to.

Don't forget the walkabout this Saturday and More importantly the full company rehearsal on Sunday. Yes, that's right for the first time on Sunday we will be rehearsing the full show with the blue team of the Kids Chorus.

With all the hard work that we have all put into this show, let's look forward to the future.

Show Selling Fast

Hiya All

Rehearsals last night went very well, although attendance was a bit poor.

The big news is that the Saturday Matinee performance for Oliver is now sold out with less that 50% of seats remaining for the evening performance.

If you know anyone who wants to see the show please advise them to book now as we don't want to dissappoint any members of our audience who may not get to see this fabulous show

See Ya

Not Long Now!

Hiya All

Well, after a long abscense from this page, I'm making my return to the blog to keep you all updated on the build up to our October Production of 'Oliver!'

Rehearsals have been going very well, although, due to the holiday period, attendance has been a bit sporadic.

The Chorus Numbers have now all been set and just need that final bit of polish to make the show sparkle.

The two teams of kids are performing well and are very enthusiastic.

Ticket Sales are going well but as always could be even better, although the Saturday Matinee is almost sold out, the mid week performances could do with a bit of bolstering up.

In other news, the Curryoke last Friday was a great success, with a good time had by all, it also raised a goodly sum for the society, which is just what we need.

Rehearsals, BBQ's and Buying Online

Hiya All

'Oliver!' rehearsals are now well underway for both children and adults, and now that we have a full cast list it's easy to tell that we're going to have a fabulous show.

Many thanks go to Kelly & Marcus for hosting the extremely succesful BBQ last Saturday. It was great fun with silly games and lively banter. Don't forget that we have our Car Rally coming up on Saturday 9th August

On another note, thanks to some excellent research by Sophie we are able to offer a direct link from the homepage to a large number of Online retailers. The advantage to us is that for every purchase made through this link EBLOS earns some commission. The prices are the same as direct so why not buy your stuff and help make EBLOS a little bit on the Side.

They were very well attended, thanks to hard work by the people behind the scenes.

They went extremely well, and we look to have an excellent set of chorus children for what will be a smashing show.

Hope you had a good time at the social rehearsal last night. Sorry I couldn't be there, other shows, don't you know!.

Thanks for the suggestions for the festival show, I will look to incorporate some of them into the programme.

Next week, some of the scripts for the sketches will be down for you to peruse and decide what you would like to be considered for.

Drawing a Bead on Opening Night

Hiya All

Well, with only a short period of time to go before opening night I attempted a run of Act One last night.

We got to the end of Scene 1, and I suddenly realised how quick the show is coming upon us.

All I can ask is for everyone to give me their all and I know that the show will be the fabulous production I know it can be.

In the meantime - Sell SELL SELL those tickets

See Ya

6 Weeks and Counting

Hiya All

Well six weeks to go and it's really beginning to look like we have all the pieces to make a great show.

The principals and chorus are working hard, the kids are slotting in nicely and Kelly's choreography looks great.

All we need now are 'The costumes, the scenery, the make up, the props' and of course, most importantly 'The audience who lift you when you're down'.

Yes, now is the time to start flogging those tickets and get us some lucky punters to enjoy what I know will be a magnificent show.

Dancing on Nicely

Hiya All,

Last night saw the first floor rehearsal for a dance number, choreographed by Kelly. It was well structured, thought out, simple yet effective and bodes well for the rest of the show.

Good news is that we are now fully cast for the show, with the two younger 'Oakley Sisters' having now been sorted.

As announced last night, Claire is unfortunately having to leave us, as her hubby has got a nice new job elsewhere. This leaves the post of secretary to be filled and I urge you all to consider joining the committee in this role.

Claire will still be at rehearsal if you want a chat, and we wish her well on her move.

Back To Business

Hiya All

After a long absence of updates on the blog, I'm back at the keyboard once more.

Last night was the AGM and I would like to thank all those who came for their attendance.

The committee was voted in and unluckily for you I'm Chairman once more!

'Annie Get Your Gun' rehearsals are well underway and we are getting into the full swing of things now.

The company are sounding great under Charlie's hand and I hope that my floor rehearsals are fun.

Going Great Guns!

Hiya All,

Having popped down to rehearsals on Thursday, I am pleased to say that the show is sounding great already.

I was a bit concerned about how few were there but can only expect it this close to Xmas.

Last night was our last 'official' rehearsal for this year but we are having a Xmas Rehearsal next week, starting with Carol Singing round the streets and ending up with a general party at Fairway Hall (with Mulled Wine and Mince Pies)

If you want to join us at the carol singing we are meeting in the Fairway Hall Carpark at 6.30pm Thursday 20th December.

Rehearsal proper will start at 8.00pm, bring a party piece and we'll have a nice singalong too!

Congratulations

Hiya All

Well, Auditions have come and gone and I would like to congratulate those lucky enough to get a part (For Cast List, See Main Page)

I'd also like to thank all the auditionees, the standard was very hard and made the panel's job very difficult.

It just goes to show what a talented society we have. A quick reminder that their are one or two parts still uncast, and that second auditions will be next Thursday, from 7.45pm (Don't be Late)

The next two weeks of rehearsal are blocking for Principals, but please come down and see us if you want to.

The next full company rehearsal is on Thursday 6th December and will be a music rehearsal, under Charlie's Watchful Eye

See You All Soon

Lets Get Cracking

Hiya All

Well, here we go again, bursting forth into another production.

Auditions for 'Annie Get Your Gun' are on Thursday 15th November and I encourage all eligible members to audition for what I plan to be a fun and memorable show.

This Thursday and Next I will not be down, but my cohorts will. Please feel free to ask them anything. (Careful about that with Charlie as he will answer ANYTHING!)

Next week, many of our fellows are appearing in 'Gigi' with Kenton at the Winston Churchill Hall in Ruislip and it would be great to see a crowd there supporting them.

Anyway, that's about all for now.

See Ya

NEXT!!

Hiya All

So, show week has come and gone.. 'Kiss Me, Kate' was a fabulous success, the audience loved it, the cast enjoyed it and the party went on till the early hours.

My congratulations go out to James, Charlie, the cast, crew and anyone else involved in such a rip roaring sucess.

Now though, the sound of the applause is starting to fade from our ears, what to do, what to do??

The answer of course is move on to our next great production.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you 'Annie Get Your Gun'. With music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, this is a musical that is all about 'Showbusiness'

There is a readthrough on Thursday for those of you who don't know the story and I can promise that there will be great fun to be had during rehearsals.

Filled With Pride

Hiya All

First off, a big thank you to all of you for your attention and suggestions during last nights meeting. It's nice to know that you are behind the society 100%.

The rehearsal went very well, I think, and I'm looking forward to Tuesday's with rapt attention

Loving The Energy

Hiya All

I must say that I am very encouraged by the Act 1 Run we did last night. The energy during the rehearsal was fantastic and it shows that 'Kiss Me, Kate' will be absolutely fab.

We still need, however, to generate some more ticket sales as I would like to remind you all that there is now only FIVE weeks until opening night.

What a Hoot!

Hiya All

Last nights rehearsal must have shown everyone that 'Kiss Me, Kate' is going to be one hell of a hoot to do. The run of the first act was tremendous with 8 weeks to go with only one or two scenes to be worked on.

A big hiya too to the two new boys Aron and Matt who are joining us. Please make them feel welcome.

Continuing Progress

Hiya All

I'm not going to bother with an update on 'Kiss Me, Kate' as we all know how well that is progressing

We have announced the production team for our next show 'Annie Get Your Gun' - Director: Stuart Everett, MD: Charlie Wakely.

Other than that everything is swinging along fine. Now we just need to start plugging away at ticket sales and get the Radlett Centre filled for all our performances.

Hiya All

In response to the complaints from you guys and dolls out there I am back blogging this week.

Just to let you know, rehearsals for 'Kiss Me, Kate' are underway in earnest and have been a lot of fun up until now! Although it's early days yet I think we can all look forward to a fantastic show (obviously due solely to casting me as Fred!)

In other news there will be a committee meeting on Monday, if as a member, you have anything you wish to raise please email me (chairman@eblos.co.uk)

Looking forward to seeing you all at rehearsals, or the show.

Awards & Accolades

Hiya All

A big thank you to everyone who turned out for the Festival Parade last Saturday. Thanks to your efforts we managed to win 2nd Place (Walking Entry)

Following on from that, in the evening we performed 'All Singing, All Dancing' and then again on Sunday, both performances of which were well attended and thouroughly enjoyed by the cast and audience alike.

Thanks to Rob & Oli for their work on the music and an especially big thank you to Jan for all her hard work behind the scenes and Front Of House.

Congratulations

Hiya All

Well done to all those cast last night at the Auditions. I hear the standard was very high and the casting very difficult.

I believe this shows that as a society we are going from strength to strength

Second Auditions are next Thursday (31st May) and will be followed by a festival rehearsal.

Good Luck to all those auditioning next week (Me included)

See Ya All There

Festival Fun Begins

Hiya All

A fantastic start has been made on the festival show, I think we can all agree

The cheesy dance moves for Another Op'nin' Another Show, the chaos which will be Do-Re-Mi and the excellent sounds being provided by our soloists lead me to predict that this will be THE festival show to see.

So get out there and start plugging away. Box Office is open right now (Unless it's 2 in the morning)

Good Luck to all who are auditioning for 'Kiss Me, Kate' next week and I hope to see you all at    'How the Queen Dispences Alms'

The Future Decided

Hiya All

Well as some of you may know, especially those of you listening at rehearsals, we have provisonally decided our future shows up until 2010. (Look on Coming Soon for further details)

I am delighted that these decisions have been made as we can now look forward to the Society going from strength to strength

Rehearsals for 'Kiss Me,Kate' are already well under way with 1st auditions on 24th May.

Good Luck to all those involved

See Ya

What a Great Week

Hiya All

Well there goes another show week, and what a week.

The show went amazingly well, and if you didn't see it you missed a treat.

Many Thanks go out to all involved.

No rest for the wicked however, as we head straight into rehearsal mode for 'Kiss Me, Kate' This Thursday

See ya all there !!

Another Op'nin, Another Show !!

Hiya All

Yes I know that line's from the next show but it seems appropriate at all times.

The Big Night is here, after months of preparation and rehearsal, 'The Pajama Game' is ready to hit the boards.

A big thank you to everyone who has helped us to get to this point, most especially Janet and Charlie.

And now it just remains for me to say

GOOD LUCK, WE'RE ALL COUNTING ON YOU.

ps. I will remember my lines (Honest!)

The Big Day Approaches

Hiya All

Well the big week is upon us, Get in and Band Call Sunday, Technical on Monday, Dress Rehearsal on Tuesday and then the OPENING NIGHT.

I know we're all very excited at the prospect, the show looks and sounds fantastic.

Let's all just keep up the good work and make this a show that goes down in EBLOS history.

That just leaves me to say - GOOD LUCK to one and all

I'm Baaaaack!!

Hiya All

I'm back from my Hols as you all no doubt know.

After Last night's rehearsal I can see we have one hell of a show

Tickets are selling fast but we always have room for more people, so get out there and sell, Sell, SELL.

One week to go and the excitement is palpable.

REMEMBER- It's YOUR Society and it relies on all it's members

A Brief Farewell

Hiya All,

As you may be aware I'm off t'Egypt for a week, cruising down the Nile with a cocktail in my hand (and learning my lines of course)

In the meantime the committee are still beavering away in the background on your behalf. Arranging walkabouts and the stall at St Albans Market, preparing social events and generally keeping the society together.

Please offer your support in any way you can

REMEMBER this is YOUR Society and it will only flourish with your support

All at Sea!

Hiya all,

As you know Jan, Ray, Steve, Linda and I are on stage in 'Anything Goes' with KLOS this week at the Winston Churchill Hall in Ruislip

Why not come down and see it. It's a great show and has some fab numbers in it.

By the way, it also has the campest ship set I've ever seen.

Back to Business

Estelle has a list of walkabout dates for you to sign up for. Please, Please, Please help on at least one of these days.

Remember - This is your society. It will only continue to thrive if you want it to.
