Well, what a stressfull few months this has been, trying to get 42nd Street up and running, but I am delighted to say that we have finally got things moving!
Rights from Musicscope eventually made it to us, so we were able to then advertise for dancers for the show.
We have also been lucky enough to secure Graeme Liddell to MD the show. Some of you may remember Graeme from our production of My Fair Lady a few years back.
I would also like to welcome all of you who are joining us for the first time - we hope you have fun!
We are still looking for more dancers, so get the word out to anyone who you think might be interested.
Thanks to everyone who made it along to the quiz night last weekend. It was great fun and raised some much needed money for us. Who knows?..we may look at making this a regular fund raising event!
That's all for now .. see you all on Thursday

Rehearsals for 42nd Street got underway on Thursday with read through and dance. An enjoyable evening and everyone excited about this show. We do need as many new people as possible, so if you have any friends, family etc who fancy it . . please bring them along next week.
I think it's safe to say that these rehearsals are going to be a lot of fun and if last nights taster was anything to go by- hard work!
Bring it on and . . . see you next week.

On behalf of the society, I would like to offer heartfelt condolences to Sophie and her family for their sad loss.
Our thoughts are with you Soph. x

What a swell party that was indeed!
Well done to everyone involved with what turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable weekend of Cole Porter - and not bad audiences either considering we were cursed with glorious weather!
A great Front of House team worked hard in meeting, greeting and feeding the masses - so thanks to Kelly, Marcus and Sophie for that. Also to "Fairway Bob" who is always on hand to help us out.
Special thanks again to Stephen Lethbridge for tinkling the ivories so beautifully for us, and of course Jan Davis for having belief in the small, but determined cast.
. . . so goodbye dear and AMEN to "Swell Party" . . . and bring on the dancing girls for 42nd Street - subject to rights of course!
